Our Story
The story of C Family Wines begins in Grandma’s kitchen
Our family would gather a few times a year, always for Thanksgiving and Christmas. While Grandpa oversaw baking the turkey or ham, Grandma was busy baking a wide variety of desserts – pies, cookies, cakes, you name it, and each one smelled like heaven! From the moment we woke up until the last bite was gone, celebrating togetherness with family was a fantastic time filled with laughter and love.
C Family Wines is our tribute to Grandma, inspired by the mouthwatering aromas wafting from her kitchen and the cherished memories we made together as a family. Our wines are made with minimal interference. The resulting wines are light, fruity, and effervescent with low residual sugar, and are made to be enjoyed within a few years of release, preferably with food. We hope our wines inspire get-togethers, new memories, and lots of laughter!
Our Winemaking
Winemaker, Alison Crowe
Alison strives to create exceptional wines that showcase the characteristics of their origin while maintaining a sense of place. To make each bottle of vegan and gluten-free wine, she uses grapes from our Monterey County vineyards, sprinkling in to create a unique balance of flavors for each variety. Alison takes great pride in her work, dedicating herself to creating smooth, flavorful, and complex wines.
Our Vineyards and Commitment
Certified Sustainable Vineyards: Arroyo Loma, Oasis, Loma Del Rio, and Marsino
C Family Wines are primarily made from our certified sustainable vineyards in Monterey County. Monterey County has a rich wine history and culture, often called the “backbone of the Central Coast.” The region was named as one of 2013’s “Top Ten Wine Travel Destinations” by Wine Enthusiast Magazine and for good reason. It’s no wonder that it has become one of California’s most significant wine-growing and producing regions. It has a cool climate, perfect for grapes like Chardonnay, Rosé, and Pinot Noir.
According to the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance, “Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing vineyards produce high-quality grapes and wine, protect the environment and enhance the communities in which they live and work by implementing sustainable winegrowing practices that are environmentally sound, socially equitable and economically viable.”
We will continue testing and implementing the latest sustainability practices as we look to the future. By doing so, we improve the community around us and ensure we always have great wines in the glass.
